Direct carrier billing now on Sprint's Android devices


Sprint users can now enjoy the facility of direct carrier billing, as the U.S. operator becomes the latest network to provide direct carrier billing options across Google's Android Market. This will let the users to charge premium app downloads to their monthly wireless bill.

Android developers blog explained Direct Carrier Billing as an important payment option since it allows the users to purchase and pay for apps more conveniently. Moreover, it also will let users buy in areas, where the trend of credit cards is not much popular. 
Prior to Sprint; T-Mobile USA and AT&T became the first two major U.S. operators in 2010 to offer Android Market billing options. Apart from the U.S. operators, Japanese networks SoftBank, KDDI and NTT DoCoMo also offer their customers the option of direct carrier billing.
Reports are that in coming times, Google will join hands with more carrier networks to offer this option. If this remains the trend, then in near future, new payment options will be announced for sure. 
If we take a look in the past, we will see that there were reports that Google was not satisfied with sales of premium Android applications market. Thus, it had announced that it will strive hard for notable significant storefront improvements, including new carrier billing alternatives.
