As a special diagnostic operating mode of Windows, safe mode which starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers helps you to diagnose and troubleshoot various computer problems. Whenever your computer crashes or a spyware or virus affects your PC, you can enter safe mode to fix these problems. So when you want to bypass Windows XP password.
There are 3 safe mode options, here only shows you detailed instructions on how to bypass windows XP password by safe mode with command prompt, which will starts Windows in safe mode with a command prompt window instead of the usual Windows interface. Before proceeding the following steps, please make sure that you never set a password for the built-in administrator account on your Windows XP machine or you can remember password of a Windows account with administrative privileges.
Step 1. Turn on your computer.
Step 2. Repeatedly tap F8 key as the computer is booting. It will bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below.

Step 3. Use your arrow keys to select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and press Enter.
Step 4. Windows will load files until you see a logon screen similar screen with all your account user names displayed. Enter password for your administrator account to get in safe mode.
Step 5. You'll see Windows command prompt after entering safe mode.
Step 6. Enter "net user" on the command prompt, and press Enter. It will list all the user names of your Windows accounts. Here we assume that there is a user name of "Jack" in the list and you want to bypass the "Jack" account password.
Step 7. Enter "net user Jack 123456" on command prompt and press Enter. This command line means that you want to reset the lost "Jack" account password to "123456". When it takes effect, you'll be able to logon the Jack account with the new password of "123456".

Step 8. Now all the operations compete and you can exit safe mode by restarting computer.
Please note this method will not work for you if you cannot enter safe mode with an administrator account. Under this circumstance, what should you do next? Well, don't feel impressed.
